The two day National Seminar on ‘Infrastructure Development in India’ started at Pacific University on Friday 10th February.

The seminar is a joint initiative by Mohan Lal Sukhadia and Pacific Universities. The chief guests for the first day of the event were B.S. Bisht, Vice Chancellor, Govind Vallabh Pant Agricultural University; Pantnagar; Rakesh Mohan Joshi Professor and Project Head, Indian Foreign Business Institute; Amit Bhatia, Chief Operating Officer, Aspire Groups; B.P. Sharma, Professor President, Paher Group. Indravardhan Trivedi, vice Chancellor, MLSU leaded the conference.

K.K. Dave from Pacific University pointed on need and importance of better infrastructure, he said “it is now crucial because of increasing radius of cities and basic necessities are still not available in rural areas”.

Professor Bist said, “The population of India till 2050 would be around 180 crore and the land for agricultural activities would just be around 120 million hectare, so there should be an intelligent organization and use of resources available”.

Rakesh Mohan Joshi talked on issues like basic necessities, corruption and substandard Infrastructure.

Amit Bhatia enlightened the seminar on issues such as education, health and values by stating these as basic three pillars of Infrastructure.

On the very First day of seminar, two technical sessions were organized. First being the discussion of Road & Transport and second on Agriculture.

Welcome session was organized by Dr. Pallavi Mehta and Dr. Subhash Sharma; Thanksgiving was done by Professor Yawar Reha and Technical Rounds were coordinated by Dr. Pooja and Professor Vivek Sharma.

Ashish Agarwal, Finance Secretary, Paher promised Pacific University to help in all possible ways to conduct these types of crucial seminars in future.
