Udaipur, May 13, 2025 – Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain held a meeting yesterday, May 12, with officials of the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) to discuss development works in the city and surrounding peripheral areas.

The MLA instructed that the road work at Purohiton ka Talab be completed soon and directed that the road from Nagda restaurant to Keshav Nagar be widened from 20 feet to 40 feet.

In response, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain said that discussions were going on with the homeowners whose properties fall along the proposed road expansion route. The road will be widened only after obtaining their consent.

He informed that on the Subhash Nagar Road near Lake City Mall, a wall is causing obstruction to the work and needs to be demolished. Once this is done then the road work will be complete.

Plans are on to build new roads on both sides of the Kumharo ka Bhatta railway bridge. The right-side road from Kumharo ka Bhatta overbridge will connect to Sevashram Pulia, while the left-side road will emerge on Mali Colony 100 Feet Road.

MLA Jain inquired about the land acquisition near Nehru Hostel close to Sevashram and emphasised starting the road work there at the earliest.

Regarding the proposed road from in front of Meera Girls College moving on the Aloo Factory route and behind the Railway Ground, officials said that the survey is complete and land acquisition and road building work will commence accordingly.

UDA will also issue a tender for the installation of CCTV cameras across the city.
