News Reporter Passes Away, city journos gives condolence
Udaipur journalists have mourned the death of a young and budding journalist Akanksa Rao who was working with Rajasthan Patrika, a Hindi daily newspaper.
Akanksha Rao (24) died on the night of September 16th due to prolonged illness. She had been treated for a week in Udaipur’s GBH American Hospital before she was admitted to Ahmedabad’s Shalby Hospital where she was under treatment from the last three days. Her condition was said to be worrisome sincelast one and a half month.
While reporting the campus beat for Patrika, Akanksha had left an incredible impression on her colleagues, friends and numerous readers of the popular daily newspaper.
“I unfortunately got only a few months to work with Akanksha,” said Suresh Vyas, senior journalist of Rajasthan Patrika. While expressing his tribute towards her Vyas said, “Akanksha was a simple, friendly, soft-spoken and hardworking reporter; while working with her; I had always felt that incredible potential in her which could have taken her to a great height in field of journalism.”
Akanksha is survived by her parents, her father Vardisingh Rao, her mother Rekha Bali and two elder brothers. Akanksha was the youngest child in the family.
While talking to UdaipurTimes.com, inconsolable Vardisingh Rao said,“She was not well since one and a half month, her body was getting weaker every day and getting several infections. First she was admitted in GBH American hospital for a week and later shifted to Ahmedabad.”
The staff of the Rajasthan Patrika held a condolence meet today and stood silent for a minute to pray for Akanskha’s departed soul.
“Lakecity Press Club of Udaipur will hold condolence meet on Sunday, 18th September,” said Akhtar Hussain, the president of the club.
