NSS Students campaigned against Female Foeticide
National Service Scheme (NSS), today organized a campaign against Female Feticide. The program officer of NSS, Sanjay Badala initiated this event with the help of NSS students from Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School. The students composed song on the lines and tune of the famous “Why this Kolaveri Di” giving their own lyrics corresponding to the main issue targeted in the event.

‘Female Feticide’ means killing the girl child before birth. Medical science advancement has enabed various easy and safe means by which this delinquency occurs.
Where on one side we see women reaching the top and giving cut throat competition to men, the other side is unfortunately, daunting.
A question that arises in the mind of many “is this how we would want the future to be?” Even in this modern age, people still feel women are a burden on them.
According to the Census 2011, Rajasthan has 883 girls between the ages of 0 to 6 for every 1,000 boys in the same age group.
The very practice of finding out the gender of the child during pregnancy prevalent in all countries becomes the main reason for such actions.
Women empowerment is one way of strengthening a woman’s right. Educating them means preparing for an educated country in future.
