“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” – Friedrich Nietzsche This quote truly justifies the vibrant spirit of the young and enthusiastic dancers who performed at Udaan, the open solo dance competition organized by the Purple Planet Events, which concluded on Sunday 20 May at the Sukhadhia Rang Manch, Town Hall.

The event commenced on the 11^th of May with a general auditions round. With a total of 150 entries, 45 performers were shortlisted for the final showdown held on 20 May. TV Actor Ashutosh Pandey was the host for the event.

The event started at 4’o clock in the afternoon and ran until late evening. Satyendra Pal Singh Chabra, Secretary, Field Club; Kiran Mal Sawansukha, Social Activist; Rajni Dangi, Chairperson Municipal Council and Seema Chordia, Sarpanch, Bhuwana were the chief guests for the occasion.

The audience was thrilled and amazed as they witnessed the talent our city holds as participants displayed their ability through their elegant and graceful dance performances throughout the entire show. The event was also appreciated for the large variety of styles that were showcased by the participants.

Udaan was judged by a panel of 3 judges: Vijay Laxmi Galundia, Secretary of the Mahaveer Yuva Manch; Yatharth Verma, Director of Meera Kala Mandir and Nidhi Saxena, Former President of Rotary Club Udaipur (Elite). The judges expressed their amazement at the level of performance delivered by the contestants.

The event ended with the results for the competition announced by Panil Pokharna. Hemant Gorkha grabbed the first place in junior category while Meenal Garg and Bhavya Oberwal were the first and second runner ups respectively.

Vishalraj Singh Patil leads the senior category while Ashok Kumar Meghwal stood second and Roshan Kalewa secured third position.

The dance competition was directed and coordinated by Pooja and Panil Pokharna of Purple Planet Events.
