Protests Shut down Guru Gobind Singh SchoolWhile student members of the Muslim Students Committee have demanded strict action against the teacher, Jeevanlal Daranga who had allegedly beaten two students on 11th January 2012; activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarti Parishad (ABVP) have backed the teacher and have demanded action against the students who they allege were apparently involved in physically assaulting the teacher.

Protest rallies were taken out by both the groups and they handed over the memorandums to the district collector, Hemant Ghera today.

Muslim Students Committee demanded a Police complain to be registered against Jeevanlal Daranga, while ABVP opposed the request.

Taking back to the incident that sparked off this altercation, 3 people, including two students Matin Khan, Sameer Khan and a teacher Jeevanlal Daranga were injured during the alleged brawl between both students and the teacher on 11th January (full news). As a result the students were suspended from school for 7 days.

ABVP activist, Pankaj Borana said, “We are supporting the teacher Jeevanlal Daranga and have given a memorandum to the collector requesting not to take any action against him. The 1st session of the school was also shut down to maintain peace.”

Dinesh Dashora, Vice Principal of the Guru Gobind Singh School said, “The school investigation committee that we have setup for the case is doing its work; any action to be taken will have to wait for the report of the committee.
