Rotary Club will soon be working for the eradication of poverty from the world. This was declared by Kalyan Banerjee, President of Rotary International in International Convention which was held from 6th to 9th May, 2012 in Thailand.

“It has been several years since someone from Udaipur has attended such an International Convention. Dr. Seema Singh, who attended the event, shared her experience there with the other club members,” says Dr. Nirmal Kunawat, Club President at Udaipur.

“The topic of uprooting poverty and what steps should be taken to carry out this initiative was discussed in detail there. The government is providing full support to Rotary in its activities which clearly depict their commitment to our cause. The convention also contributed to the improvement in Bangkok’s financial standard,” informs Dr. Singh.

30,000 Rotary Club members from 172 countries participated in the convention. “The Princess of Thailand had also graced the occasion and added a royal touch to the convention. Flags from 8 countries were brought under the Flag Exchange Program and were presented to Dr. Nirmal Kunawat, K.P. Gupta, Nirmal Singhvi, Umed Singh Chauhan, Mahadev Damani and to Asha Kunawat,” said Dr. Sujan Singh.
