Samnvay: A Group to Help Slum Children

Samnvay: A Group to Help Slum Children

‘Samnvay Udaipur’, a social group working for the settlement and benefit of slum dwellers, especially kids, was conceptualized in June 2011 with an objective to help the residents of slums and to tackle people under depression. The idea of ‘Samnvay Udaipur’ came to Osho’s mind when he was preparing for his MCA examination in Mumbai and he put the idea to practice with the help of his friends.

Samnvay: A Group to Help Slum ChildrenThe lyrics from a well-remembered song of the Raj Kapoor blockbuster ‘Awara’…”kisi ki musqurahato pe ho nisaar…”

Life lived for others is really meaningful and Osho Pandey, a student of M. Sc. Psychology at the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, MLSU, Udaipur, is making this through ‘Samnvay Udaipur’.

In the initial phase, members are collecting material like clothes, sundry items and house hold items to distribute amongst the ones living in the slums.

Samnvay: A Group to Help Slum ChildrenThe financial backbone of ‘Samnvay Udaipur’, Anoop Jamvani, a young businessman of Udaipur is not only extending financial support but also looking after the legal formalities to incorporate Samnvay Udaipur into a trust.

Osho said, “Anoop is the backbone of the group and he has also adopted one kid from OXM International and is responsible for his education and other basic requirements.”

The group has distributed every possible resource so far and also celebrated Diwali with Udaipur Network of People Living With HIV, Badgaon, and a sister concern of an international group to help HIV positive children.

The startling fact is that even though most of the members of the group are not earning, they still donated clothes and crackers worth Rs. 2000 on Diwali.

The members including Osho Pandey, Diksha Mohale, Deepak Purbia, Anoop Jamvani, Robin Issac, Dinesh Sainani and others make a schedule and once they are through with the stuff to distribute, they set out to extend a helping hand.

‘Samnvay Udaipur’ is an inspiration for all of us and we must come forward to help and support such groups.
