With an objective of making Udaipur a better and smarter city, Techno NJR organized seminar on 15th April on Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart City. Magnus Martensson, Regional Director (Europe), Microsoft was the keynote speaker and spoke on building IoT applications with cloud for smart city.

Prabhjot Singh Bakshi, MVP and Director, Getwings Technologies spoke on Microsoft Azure for IoT.

He also gave demo on controlling household appliances using web and mobile app. Magnus Martensson also inaugurated IoT club where students will be developing IoT applications and learning new technology.

250 students attended the seminar and got the insight of the technology behind cloud and IoT. Techno NJR is offering B. Tech courses in CSE and IT in collaboration with IBM with specialization in Cloud Computing and Virtualization, Business Analytics, Cyber Security and Forensics and IoT & Smart city.

IoT has formed backbone of smart city and now with Udaipur being declared as Smart city, it becomes more important. IoT offerings are transforming cities by improving infrastructure, creating more efficient and cost effective municipal services, enhancing public transportation, reducing traffic congestion, and keeping citizens safe and more engaged in the community.

Piyush Javeria, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology spoke about importance of emerging technologies like Cloud Computing and Internet of things and their relevance in real life scenarios and presented vote of thanks.
