Ram Ram Udaipur! The first online tv show of Udaipur is being launched today by Shikshantar, a non-profit organization based at Adinath Nagar, Udaipur.
With its first 15 min series, which has already been viewed more than 150 times on YouTube, the show is focused on generating ideas to widen the basic thought process by exploring issues and questions about the future of Udaipur and its localization.
A young team led by Kishan Prajapat and Karan Singh of Udaipur have designed the show. The series will be produced and broadcast once in a month and will be in the local Mewari dialect.
The first episode of ‘Ram Ram Udaipur’ introduces people who have dedicated their life for some noble causes viz. taking care of stray animals, promoting health through organic food, etc. and a visit to an Art gallery.
The first part of the episode shows the stray’s home Samvedna and a short interview of Poonam Sahdeva, and in the second part it takes the viewers to organic food shop Banyan Roots. The episode concludes with interviews of several inmates who did art work on the walls of Udaipur Central Jail.
While talking to UT, Manish Jain, founder of Shikshantar said, “We are trying to do several things with this project; one is promoting our local language, second introducing people who worked selflessly for special causes or those who became a role model for others.”
Manish also revealed about the next episode, which will be like People’s Adalat where a common man can put forward his complain regarding anything to do with the city’s development.
However, all episodes will be broadcasted through social media channels viz. YouTube, Facebook, etc. but Manish and his team are also in talks with local cable operators for releasing their episodes, something that will definitely expand their reach.
