Shilpgram Festival will be more special and attractive this year as West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), the organizer of Shilpgram Festival is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year. The 10 day festival will start on 21 Dec. It is considered as one of the most colorful festival and an exceptional stage for traditional art and artists.

Shilpgram Festival will be more special and attractive this year as West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), the organizer of Shilpgram Festival is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year. The 10 day festival will start on 21 Dec. It is considered as one of the most colorful festival and an exceptional stage for traditional art and artists.

Shilpgram Utsav 2011 is choreographed with different themes dedicated to each day. Shilpgram, Udaipur is the cultural center of West Zonal States of India namely Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa.

So, starting from 22-25 Dec, each day will be dedicated to a particular state to perform programs on the stage depicting their art and music.

The table below gives an insight into the schedule of the programs at Shilpgram:

24 December Gujarat Day
25 December Rajasthan Day
26 December Lok Tarang
27 December Udaan
28 December Saptrang
29 December Dharohar
30 December Jhankaar

*On 29 Dec (Dharohar), audiences will get a chance to hear the episode of Mahabharat by famous Padwani Singer and Padmbushan Teejan Bai.

The popular haat bazaar at Shilpgram will start every day at 12pm; many local and distant traders will set their shops of clothes, handicraft, crockery and food products etc at this market at Shilpgram.

Shilgram Utsav is a showcase of the national handicraft and traditional art; it is encouraging and spreading India’s vibrant artwork and artists through this. Shilpgram Utsav will be equally supported by central ministries, state government, various departments and administrative boards.

The festival will be inaugurated by Governor of Rajasthan, Shivraj Patil while Vice Chancellor of MPUAT S.S. Chahel will be among other prominent guests for the event.

Special arrangements for traffic control has been made by authorities, the road to Shilpgram will be one-way. All 2-wheelers will be allowed to go from Sanjay Garden Road while 4-wheelers will be directed towards Bari road to reach Shilpgram.

To tighten up the security, CCTV cameras have been installed at Shilpgram.
