State Government has tied up with private players for provision of smart transportation facilities for the cities of Udaipur and Jaipur. The cities can now expect to see pre-paid taxis, e-scooty, e-rickshaw and e-bicycle services plying soon.

As per details from Times of India, an Ahmedabad based company, Namasteji has been shortlisted for provision of these services in a joint arrangement with Yes Bank. Besides availing of the smart transport vehicles, state Government is also planning to tie-up with private players for launching pre-paid auto-rickshaw services. e-rickshaws are already popular in some other cities because of their low cost and low pollution problems.

The rickshaws will be fitted with GPS providing safe transport option to women. Further, each will also have a panic button that passengers can press in case of any unforeseen situation.

Along lines of e-rickshaw, e-scooty and e-bicycle will provide transport facility for single commuter. These will make all the more sense in the narrow by-lanes of old city.

Namasteji will issue pre-paid cards that can be used for availing these services, drawing cash from ATM and also for doing e-commerce transactions.
