Swarnim 2012: MLSU Annual Fest from January 27

This period of year is no less than a merry time for college students of the City of Lakes, as all the colleges and Universities in Udaipur are observing their annual cultural fests week on week, and at times even simultaneously.

Subsequently to around half a dozen vibrant fests that have been held in as many weeks, it is now time for the biggest to step in.

After conducting a variety of seminars, conferences and workshops over the last quarter, during its Golden Jubilee year, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University is ready once again to set the pace with SWARNIM 2012, touted as one of the biggest cultural fests in the city.

More than 9 colleges of the city will take part in this event, which undisputedly makes it the most flamboyant college event of Udaipur.

According to the Cultural Secretary, Pulkit Agarwal, “we have done thorough preparations and are expecting a big bash for the coming three days. The management committee and all volunteer students had done their best to make SWARNIM 2012 a success.”

Paramveer Singh, the President, MLSU updated us about the various competitions that are to be held in the festival. “We have planned many events like Dance, Song, Quizzes, Mehendi, Rangoli, Debates, Food Fest, Face Painting, Poster Making, Mime, Mono Act, One Act Play and Fancy Dress”, said Paramveer Singh.

“We have invited Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as the Chief Guest on the second day of function. Raghuveer Singh Meena, Gajendra Singh Shaktawat and Mahendra Singh Malviya are also going to attend the fest as Guests of Honor”, he added.

Pranjal Lodha, Finance Secretary said, “Events for the first day are scheduled to take place at the College of Commerce and Management Studies, while the MLSU Auditorium will host the events of the remaining two days.”

SWARNIM is the same festival which was known as Gavri till last year. In order to style the event on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Year, it is going to be called “SWARNIM”, which is a collation of the term Swarn Jayanti.
