Well known picnic spot Thoor ki Paal is set to get a face lift with a beautification and renovation plan laid out by UIT. As part of the makeover, 5 ghats will come up at Thoor ki Paal. Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria laid the foundation for the same today.

While laying the foundation, Kataria said that the renovation will add to the beauty of the picnic spot and will also make it a lot safer for tourists to enjoy the water flow. Currently the water flow area is very rocky and has a lot of potholes making it very dangerous. The site has already seen quite a few major accidents with minor accidents being very normal.

Legislator from the area, Pratap Bheel said that Thoor ki Paal has a major significance in his constituency from the tourism perspective. The place also houses an ancient Shiv ji temple. Further, there is a huge inflow of tourists during monsoons and this beautification drive will help in providing a more enjoyable and safe experience to the tourists.

First leg of the beautification and renovation drive will cost around Rs 35 Lakhs. This work will be undertaken in conjunction with technical expertise of the irrigation department.
