He came with the tiniest mojri with size of 0.4 inches made with leather and magnificent silk embroidery on it.

Mojri making is not new to Sadakat Hussain (36); it has been his family business for ages. He has seen his grandfather and father making mojris and has now inherited the art from them.

“I made this smallest mojri with an intention to promote our traditional footwear and bring back life to it. I have noticed the picture of tremendous market changes, with modernization and new trend coming in market, morjris are forgotten,” said Hussain.

It took him 3 long months to complete it and this is not the first one he has made. He had made a few pairs before also and whishes to make more, but this is the smallest one till date, smaller than a nail.

This mojri is on display for everyone at Sadakat’s shop in Shilpgram. He has also registered it for Guinness Book of World Records and is confident to see it there.

Mojri is considered to be one of the most comfortable footwear because of its texture. It’s made of pure leather which is very soft and best suitable for the hot climatic conditions of Rajasthan.

Being traditional footwear of Rajasthan you can find them in every city of the state but Udaipur, Jaipur, Bikaner and Jodhpur are some of the places where you can find the finest of all.
