At the Republic Day parade in New Delhi which will be attended by the US President, Barack Obama as chief guest, a group of children from West Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur will form the part of the children’s component of the parade.

Udaipur Group to perform for Obama at Republic Day Parade

At the Republic Day parade in New Delhi which will be attended by the US President, Barack Obama as chief guest, a group of children from West Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur will form the part of the children’s component of the parade.

Out of the 4 cultural presentations of children, one group from WZCC, Udaipur will give a performance of about two minutes in front of the Presidential dais. Children belonging to a school from Udaipur coming under West Zone Cultural Centre, will perform Gujarat’s ‘Daang Adivasi Holi Nritya’. This dance is performed by young male and female accompanied by their instruments Sarnai, Kahlya and Dholki.

The parade that starts at Rajpath and goes up to the Red Fort covers a distance of about 8 kilometers. The program that will run for 107 minutes will have 25 tableaux from various states.

This is exciting for the people of Udaipur as in other news; three sergeants from Udaipur will also be participating in the Republic Day parade on 26th January 2015.
