Association submits memorandum for permission to keep outlets open beyond 10:30 pm
Udaipur, October 18, 2024 - The Hotel Association of Southern Rajasthan has submitted a memorandum to the Collector and Deputy Director of Tourism in Udaipur, requesting an extension of operating hours for hotels, bars, and restaurants in the evenings.
Stressing that Udaipur is a major tourist destination attracting both domestic and foreign travellers, Rakesh Chaudhary, secretary of the Association, said that after 10:30 pm restaurants and bars are shut down in the city forcing visitors with families to wander around looking for something to eat.
This early closure, he added, is causing a loss of revenue to the food and beverage industry.
The issue of night tourism was also discussed in the district tourism development committee meeting chaired by the District Collector. The association urged a prompt resolution to provide relief to both business owners and tourists ahead of the tourist season.
President Subhash Singh Ranawat, vice-president KP Agarwal, joint secretary Prafful Singh Kumawat, treasurer Ambalal Sahu, and member Akshay Singh Rao were also present in the meeting.
