Udaipur Marks World Environment Day
The District Environment Council and Udaipur Forest Department (South) acknowledged the importance of World Environment Day today on 5th June by organizing a Cycle Marathon to spread awareness of Environment Conservation and Sustainable Development.
The District Environment Council and Udaipur Forest Department (South) acknowledged the importance of World Environment Day today on 5th June by organizing a Cycle Marathon to spread awareness of Environment Conservation and Sustainable Development.
The Marathon was flagged off from Mohta Park by Madhu Mehta. The rally route covered UIT Circle, FatEh Sagar and ended at Moti Magri.
Other than the cyclists, the Marathon was also joined by people who walked till Moti Magri and Roller Skating Kids from the Sahil Group.
A seminar on Environment Conservation was held at Moti Magri after the marathon. It was presided by K.C. Meena (IFS) and organized by the Forest Conservation Department. To visualize the real need for doing our bit for the environment, street dramas and puppet shows were also organized.
Jitendra Lodha; Satyaprakash Mehta; O.P. Sharma, Co-Forest Conservator Udaipur and Mahipal Singh, Assistant Forest Conservator were the main speakers at the seminar.
The seminar was concluded with a lucky draw for the marathon participants in which 2 lucky winners were rewarded with 2 Eco-Friendly Bicycles sponsored by L&T and G.M.R. Rajesh Mehta and Divya Mukhina were the two lucky winners of the Eco-Friendly Cycles.
Retail Store, Jade Blue donated 400 medical plants to persons present at the Fatah Sagar Pal today morning. The entire event concluded with a Vote of Thanks given by N.S.
