Udaipur Night Tourism: Nehru Garden to Stay Open Till 9:00 pm
The UDA has done the preparations to keep Nehru Garden open until 9:00 pm and the formal start of this initiative is expected within the next week
Udaipur, March 6, 2026 – Visitors to Udaipur’s Nehru Garden will soon be able to enjoy evening walks until late evening. The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) has done the preparations to keep the garden open until 9:00 pm and the formal start of this initiative is expected within the next week. Approval for the extended hours has also been obtained from the district administration and the Lake Development Committee.
A night market is also being developed at Rajiv Gandhi Park to create more evening attractions for tourists. According to UDA officials, the plan to keep Nehru Garden open until 9:00 pm is also part of this initiative.
Nehru Garden, which is located in the middle of Fateh Sagar, reopened to the public on September 5, 2025, after a four-year-long wait. Extensive renovation worth around Rs 10 crore had been carried out which included a music fountain, new landscaping, improved seating arrangements and a cafeteria.
When the garden reopened, the timing was initially from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. However, the authorities had then announced that once the musical fountain and façade lighting are completed in the next 2-3 months, the garden's timing will be extended thereby promoting night tourism in Udaipur.
