The Art Gallery at the Information Centre, Mohta Park, Udaipur will be hosting a 8 day art exhibition, which will commence on 6^th February.

Udaipur’s Ms.Indira Prakash, a painter dedicated over the last 30 years to promoting women contribution in human development through modern art, will be displaying her art work, along with that of two of her students, 18-year-old Aastha and 14-year-old Maanvi.

Under the patronage of the Indira Kala Sansthan, New Delhi, this exhibition will be open to the audience and art lovers from 11 a.m. on the 6^th of February.

Dr. Girija Vyas, ex-President of the National Commission for Women and M.P. from Chittorgarh, will be doing the honors as the Chief Guest at the event, whereas M.L.A. from Udaipur, Raghuveer Singh Meena will be the Special Guest on the occasion.

While addressing the media in a press conference held today, Indira Prakash (in photo above) said the participation of women in the functioning of this creation of the Almighty – the human race, cannot be ignored. A woman, if needed can derive the power to control the entire universe, hence the name given to this exhibition is “Paraashakti”.

The world has seen the benign status of women, but now, in the modern world, women are seen differently. These are the views and vision that Indira expects to showcase to her audience through the medium of art and paintings.

Indira, had earlier wanted to be a part of the Medical profession, but during the course of her readings, she came across Gautam Buddhas biography, which made her review her passions and she decided to be a painter.

In the years 2003 and 2005, Indira has displayed her art work in the Lalit Kala Academy campus, which was recognized by personalities such as ex-Prime Minister Indra Kumar Gujral, Najma Heptullah, Satya Bahin, Sahida Begum, etc. along with other politicians and art lovers.
