In a condolence meeting organized today at Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust, Dr. Devendra Singh Hiran, who is a research scholar of Jagjit Singh’s ghazal read about his life and presented him as the Shahnshah in the field of ghazal. He also reminisced the time spent with him.

Prof. Prem Bhandari portrayed him as magician of sound and also sang a verse, ’yaad aaeyga hume chod ke jane wala…’which is the last song by Jagjit Singh in a film.

Shivdan Singh, Mushtaak Chanchal, Sushil Dashora, Pradeep Paneri, Iqbal Sagar, Ismail Ali Durga, Kanchan Singh Hiran, Rakesh Janwar and many other dignitaries also paid their homage to the ghazal samrat.

Rangtarang, Music Lovers Club, Department of Music, MLSU, Udaipur, Adabi Sangam, Nadbhrama, Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Parishad, Bohra Youth Club, Udaipur Artists Association and many other organizations also paid their floral tribute to late Jagjit Singh.

Secretary of the Organizing Committee, Nand Kishore Sharma said, “His art of singing appeals directly to heart.”
