To keep the city clean and beautiful, members of Uttarakhand Samiti Udaipur came forward in the ‘Sathi Hath Batana’ drive to deepen the lakes. The drive is initiated in the combined association of Jheel Mitra Sansthan and Jheel Sangrakshan Samiti and Dr. Manmohan Singh Mehta memorial trust.

Concillors of ward no 39 and Tejendra Singh Arora- President of City Beautification Committee also participated in the volunteering. Swaroop Sagar was cleansed and all dirt, rough stones and wild grass was removed and the land was dug deep in order to increase the storage.

Tejshankar Paliwal said that the lakes’ depth should be increased and should be kept apart from the sewage. Nand Kishor Sharma-trust’s secretary told that this is the combined civil responsibility to keep the city and environment clean.

Anil Mehta added by saying that the citizens should be sensitive enough to get involved in the efforts to keep up the lakes alive and beautification shouldn’t be the only benchmark but also the quality of water should be focussed on.
