To mark this event, the department is organizing a Cycle Rally as well as Run for Clean Drive which will start from Town Hall at 7:15 am on 1 Oct. to reach Gandhi Ground at 7:45 am. This will be followed by a cycle race that will start at 8 am from Gandhi Ground.

The event gives a chance to win fabulous prizes in the form of sponsorship to buy cycles. Almost about 200 prizes will be given by the lucky draw but it is restricted to the participants only. The first winner will get a free cycle.

The sponsorships for the prizes have come from Mahaveer International and some other NGO’s.

According to N C Jain chief conservator, forest department, “This programme is being organized in collaboration with Mahaveer International, many members of which have provided these sponsorships. Several concerned individuals and NGOs are also supporting this initiative by generously donating for providing awards.”

The participants have to fill in a coupon which will be available at the entry gate of Gandhi Ground. However, only thousand coupons will be given on first come first serve basis. It is compulsory for the winner to procure the cycle within 5 days after the event. For more details about the race, rally and prizes kindly visit this http://www.bit.ly/cycle11 .

In the RUN people can participate from any of these points (on cycle or on foot): Town hall, Shastri Circle, Sukhadia Circle, Ambamata Circle and Hathi Pole.

The goal of the event is to create awareness and sensitize people about harmful effects of rising air pollution levels on human health and even on wildlife which is found in urban areas.

UT urges all its readers and the citizens to participate in the run to save our ailing planet and its beautiful flora and fauna.
