Women Photography Club appoints new executive team

Saheli Camera Club, an exclusive women only group for amateur women photographers of the city has announced its new executive committee in an annual meet held on 28th February at a hotel in Udaipur.

Founded in the year 2011 on International Women’s Day, the club was an initiative taken by few amateur passionate photographer ladies of Udaipur to explore and enhance their passion.

Founded in the year 2011 on International Women’s Day, the club was an initiative taken by few amateur passionate photographer ladies of Udaipur to explore and enhance their passion.

Deepa Chawla will hold the post of President of the club, Tamanna Suhalka will be Secretary and Sadhna Talesra will be Treasurer, while Kiran Jain will be Patron of Saheli Camera Club.

Other key members of the club who will play the role of Directors are Subi Singhani, Navneet Kaur Kalra, Mina Khamesra, Anju Taya and Anupama Lodha.

Prominent photo journalist Rajdeep Rakesh is an advisor for the club and also offers help in teaching technical skills.

Deepa Chawla told UT that the club aims to expand among passionate women photographers and give them a common platform to share, learn and mingle with like minded members.

“We were not so active from last few months, but we have started working on more activities like camps, exhibitions, trainings, etc.” said Deepa Chawla, a house wife.

There are more than 50 members in the club. As per Rajdeep Rakesh, Saheli Camera Club is the 1st club in Rajasthan.

Explaining his role, Rajdeep told UT, “I am trying my best to devote some time to the members of club; they are also going to organize a photography exhibition on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The club has made a good start and I wish they will continue.”
