Let’s admit, you wouldn’t have been reading this, had she not been there. Mother, or you may call her your SuperWoman but she is the biggest reason of who you are today. From wiping your nose to changing your diapers, from teaching you the dance moves to solving your friendship problems, she deserves way more than just one day of recognition.

Still, out of 365 days in a year, we can celebrate one entire day just for her, making her feel like a Queen, the most priceless person on this earth. On Mother’s Day, I have enlisted ideas that you may use to create beautiful moments in her life that she will remember and cherish long even after this May 10^th.

Here is a list of things that you can do to show your Mother how special she is.

Shoot a Video:

While she has been incessantly scolding you to lessen the time you spend on social media and your phone while you are studying, watching TV or even walking; you can actually make good use of the smart phone and make a personalized video of the family members and friends and show it to her post editing.

If you are technologically strong, upload it on YouTube and show it to her in the presence of everyone. Record personal messages from all and surprise her!

Make a DIY card:

Words are the most beautiful and powerful things in the world. A simple ‘Thank You’ written by you on a card can make wonders. Check for ideas on DIY websites or Pinterest for creative cards, bring out your favorite paint colors and wax crayons and draw a card for her. Buy a few flowers from the market and surprise her with the present.

Photo Frame:

Remember, the time when we were kids and photos were taken with a film camera? Dig up your old shelves and find the best memories of you with your mother and either enlarge them onto a framable canvas or stick them on the wall of your room to remind her what you mean to her.

Make sure you are allowed to stick photographs on the wall or else the surprise for her will turn into a shock for you!

Day Off:

Mothers are the busiest people who work 365 days a year without asking for a leave. Well, give her a well-deserved day off. Take over her to-do list for the day and send her somewhere where she can relax- spa or parlor. You may turn your living room into a theater with dim lights, cook her food and play her favorite Dev Anand film or Mughal-e-Azam (download them from internet!). If she is more of a ‘we’ person, plan out a lunch with her friends or even you!

Create ‘You are the Best’ box:

Another DIY project- all you have to do is find 365 reasons that says ‘Mom, you Rock!’ or ‘Mom You are the Best.’ Come up with 365 different ideas as to why she is the best, write them on paper chits and put them inside a box or a glass jar and decorate it with ribbons.

You may write a particular memory, poem, even quotes in the chits. This is something that she will be glad to receive as sometimes, we forget to tell her why she is so awesome!

Treat her with the BEST:

Remember the time when she did all the things that you asked her to do- be it shopping, taking you for the classes or a ride to the Fateh-Sagar? Plan an entire day of you and her and give her the best time which otherwise, you would have it with your friends.

Buy tickets for a film (Piku is a great watch!), take her for shopping in the old city and get on a crazy food spree at Sukhadia Circle or food court and end up the day with coffee at roof top restaurant in the old city. Show her the beautiful sunset which she usually misses whilst cooking food in the kitchen.

Grand Celebration:

You don’t have to worry about expenses or arrange for a lavish party. Save your pocket money and binge on a boat ride to Jag Mandir with her and a coffee at Dove Coat (or more if your pocket allows). If money is the issue, you can take a boat ride at Fateh Sagar or from Dudh Talai and show her how beautiful this city has grown since she last saw it.

Take her to a fancy restaurant and treat her with all her favorite food that she wanted to try after watching them on Masterchef.

Whichever idea you may wish to incorporate, don’t forget to end the day with a tight hug and a kiss with words ‘Thank You for Everything’ from the heart. That may be the best moment she had been waiting for all this while!
