They play, they cook

They fight, they reunite

Deal with every odd together

Living there-

In the shelter by the river side together.

Blog Poem: Shelter by the Riverside

A Shelter by the Riverside

The patchy walls and the

unpainted roof over.

As roof was of thatch

With numerous holes.

There lived a family

A father, a mother

And two sisters

Happy and contended with life.

They had a river

Nearby their shelter.

A tree in the backyard,

Being the kid’s gymnastics teacher.

What else one needs

To be happy always

A river nearby, a tree

And a roof above its head.

Although sometimes

The roof is harsh

Its starts leaking

When it rains heavily.

Atrocities never made them weak

They emerged more stronger

After every calamity

in their lives.

They pray to God and

Thank him everyday

Thank him for saving them

While the whole village abandoned.

There was a rare viral disease

that hit their village

And it took away everyone

leaving these four by the river side.

And there they were

In the shelter by the river side

Enjoying & cherishing every moment.

As each day is a gift for them.

They play, they cook

They fight, they reunite

Deal with every odd together

Living there-

In the shelter by the river side together.
