In some interesting tidbits, most readers may not be aware of the Tughluq-period mosque in Udaipur or the Kalyan Sagar lake on whose bank there is a huge temple. One may also not be aware of Marikula Mata Temple, that is frequented by Hindu and Buddhist followers.

Before one starts gets freaking out about having stayed in Udaipur for years and  not knowing these famous locations, we would like to highlight that though all these are in Udaipur, but all these Udaipurs are not in Rajasthan.

Besides our very own lake city Udaipur, Tripura also has an Udaipur. Udaipur happens to be 3rd largest town of Tripura after Agartala and Dharmanagar. It is situated on the banks of Gomati and like our lake city, has lot of artificial lakesnamely Dhani Sagar, Bijoy Sagar (Mahadev Dighi), Jagannath Dighi, Amar Sagar. This is also where the above mentioned Kalyan Sagar lake is situated.

Madhya Pradesh also hosts a town by name of Udaipur. This town has mosque constructed during the reign of Muhammad ibn Tughluq. This mosque is right next to a Śiva temple that happens to be town’s most important temple.

Picturesque Lahaul Spiti valley also hosts a beautiful hill station by name of Udaipur. It is situated on banks of the Chandrabhaga River and hosts the above mentioned Marikula Mata Temple. This Udaipur hosts thick forested and green landscapes and like our lake city is an absolute pleasure to the senses.
