“Excuse me! Your bag touched me.” And before he could speak she slapped him. He got angry and tried to retaliate when he was thrown out of the bus by some so called ‘women supporting’ men.

In another incident, a boy after his 16 hour shift was asked by a girl in public transport to leave his seat for her and when he refused saying it’s a public transport, he was tagged as a man who doesn’t respect women.

The fight for women empowerment, gender equality and women discrimination has taken a new way today and gave birth to many new questions. Are we heading towards a society which supports women in every case? Are women always innocent? Are we snatching the rights from men and giving them to women? Are we heading toward a society where all powers are given to women?

The new statistics of 38% for dowry cases and 25% false rape charges have given a new way to think.

Women inequality arises when a girl is not allowed to study, she is not given the equal opportunities and salary in her respective field and physical and mental molestation. Obviously she should be supported in such cases and proper steps should be taken but creating a society which, in every case supports women or which is deaf towards the voice of a man is not and was never a solution to gender inequality.

We need to create a society which empowers men and women equally not the one which snatches all the power of man to lift up woman. A society which is not hesitant to admit that crimes are also committed by woman and sometimes man can also be innocent.

Watching man and woman through the same glasses is the first step towards gender equality. Society which can create a sky where both man and woman can grow, develop and contribute to be better individuals, build better society and nation.
