Frozen food and junk food have become a routine for many; in fact they are part and parcel of life especially for the people who rush for office in the early hours and return late and hardly get time to cook fresh food. Little does anyone realise that frozen food is actually a disaster for health.
Many varieties of frozen food are available in the market. From rotis and pulav to vegetables and kebabs...frozen food have become an inseparable part of one’s diet. Frozen food are extremely unhealthy as they contain hydrogenated palm oil and preservatives like syrups, opine health experts. The frozen foods also contain a lot of sodium which creates health issues and can be dangerous when over-consumed.
People suffering from heart diseases should not consume frozen food at all. The starch that is used to make the food look fresh and enhance taste is risky for people having diabetes. Trans fats clog the arteries and can lead to heart attacks. They also increase cholesterol levels in the bodies.
Frozen meat can cause pancreatic cancer. Results have shown that frozen foods increase a person’s weight due to the presence of fatty materials in the food. Non-diabetic people have also reported increase of blood sugar levels after increased intake of frozen food.
Basically, food should be eaten fresh. One must develop a habit of organising schedules in such a way that they get enough time to cook meals at home even if it is just 2 chapatis and one veggie. Frozen foods are a big risk; eating fresh light meals are healthy. Salads must also be eaten fresh along with some fresh fruits and these can prove to be a good filler for the in-between-meals- hunger.
