On 6th November 2014, Sikhs all over the world will be celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti with full faith and jubilation. On this occasion, here is a glimpse of how the celebration of this auspicious day begins.

On 6th November 2014, Sikhs all over the world will be celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti with full faith and jubilation. On this occasion, here is a glimpse of how the celebration of this auspicious day begins.

The celebration has already been started since yesterday morning at 8 pm with Akhand Path and will continue till tomorrow morning i.e. 6th November till 8 am.

After this, tomorrow at 8.30 am the program will commence with Keertan by Bhai Jasbeer Singh who has come from Himachal Pradesh. The Keertan will be till 10 am.

From 10.30 am onward, there will be sweets distribution among the people of the community to celebrate the Jayanti.

After an hour, the program of Divan (Sabha) will start during which there will be recitation of Gurbani and discussion on the life of Guru Nanak will be held. Towards the end, Langar, a common meal will be arranged with which the day program will end.

What will follow next is the second phase of the celebration in which the main program will start by 7 pm with recitation of poems by the kids.

After a break of half an hour, Keertan will commence again by Bhai Jasbeer Singh and his team (Jattha). This will continue till late hours and at 1.15 am; the time of Guru Nanak’s birth, the grand celebration will be started by the community people.
