Meera Kala Mandir, a centre for cultural dance and music promotes classical dance and music all over India keeping the traditions alive. It is a centre committed to bring forth the traditional dance and music forms to the people of Rajasthan who are less aware of these forms.

Meera kala mandir has made special efforts to preserve the various dance forms and music and highlighted them enough to attract tourists to this city. People from all over the country come to Udaipur to learn about the variety of classical forms.

This prestigious and popular institute was formed on 16th October 1955. A number of artists, social workers and scholars collaborated with Mr. Prakash Verma to form this institute. The highlights of this kala manidr are documentaries based on Meera, devotee of Lord Krishna. The institute has done a lot of research on life of Meera.

Training is organised for dance and music and general public has been made aware of the culture by means of several performances. Vrandavan raas, Thumari dance, Devdasi dance etc. mesmerises the audience. Meera kala mandir definitely holds the credit for keeping age old culture alive among the public.
