Automobile Updates | MG Hector Tomahawk: New 7-Seater SUV With 500+ Km Range Set to Challenge Mahindra
UdaipurTimes, August 26, 2026 | Automobile Updates: The demand for 7-seater SUVs in the Indian electric vehicle market is increasing. Taking this opportunity, JSW MG Motor India has announced the launch of its new three-row electric SUV, which has already been the subject of speculation.
The biggest attraction of this new SUV is the car's ADAPT platform. MG brought this platform to the fore in July. It can not only make electric cars but also hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and range-extender cars. That is, MG is planning to make different types of cars in the future using this one platform.
This SUV will be able to seat a total of 7 people in three rows. According to sources, there will be LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and a closed grille in the front. Roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels are also seen. Inside the car, there may be modern features like a large infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and panoramic sunroof.
Expected To Be A 7-Seater
Expectations are high about the battery and range of this car. Its international model, Wuling Starlight 560, has a 69.2 kWh battery pack. The model's motor produces 201 hp of power and 310 Nm of torque. The company claims that this model can run up to 530 km on a single full charge. The Indian model may also have the same specifications.
According to various reports, the ex-showroom price of this new SUV may be between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. However, this is only an approximate idea. After the launch, this 7-seater electric SUV will directly compete with cars like the Mahindra XUV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV in the market.
