Nature’s galore-road from Devali to Badi village, Udaipur

Who wouldn’t want to drive on a road with lush green trees on both sides of the road? The trees  are high enough to block the sun and give you a feel of hill station. I am talking about the road from Devali end to Badi village, Udaipur.

I often used to go around on this road when my residence used to be in Badi. If you start early morning for a walk maybe on this entire route, it is going to take hours and hours till you reach the other end as the beauty enroute will engulf you with too many thoughts about how nature balances itself with so many colours that you want to capture them, but then one corner of your mind says, “why waste time with the camera, just watch on, move on”!!

The amazing neem, mango and eucalyptus trees make you go gaga with the combined fragrance that hits your nostrils along with the superb scent of wet soil(due to moisture at night). What can be more needed than a wonderful start of a morning? As you go further, your thoughts tell you to have a tree house where you can lie all day and night and enjoy the nature at its best. To support this, the chirping birds give you a sensation that tickles you from within and you start wondering again. “What if I were a bird? What if I knew no boundaries? What if there were no boundaries?” Now, here you hit again.  If there were no boundaries at all…but then mindsets also need to change….

And then you look ahead. The colour of the flowers in the morning looks more beautiful to your tired eyes, tired not because you didn’t sleep well, but because they were seeing too much. All those beautiful colours make you think …red, yellow, orange, purple flowers…set your eyes on those colours and you feel some kind of passion inside you because the effect of colours inspires you to add colours to your own life. The positive touch…yeah??

As you go further ahead on the road, since it is a single road, you do wish that there were no vehicles here, that this road should be a vehicle free zone, but that is not a possible thing at all. You also get to see the sun’s rays falling on the tree tops and the changes in the shades of ‘the greens’ makes you feel that there is a golden hue which looks absolutely beautiful since it is the beginning of the sun’s rays spreading around.

Then comes the wakeup calls from the dogs and other birds…no, no more cock-a-doodle-doo now, there are hardly any. Well, that is one part you miss now-a-days.

Before the sun goes high up, you see the people running around doing their morning chores and the smell of smoke coming from the choolhaas starts hitting at you making you actually want to be on a chaarpai sitting and sipping tea cooked on live fire again leaving you wondering as to why are we progressing that way in this modern era where life has lost its natural aroma.

You might also come across snakes crossing the roads. Those who fear snakes would run away or shout the patent dialogue “saanp, saanp!!” and for people who do not fear snakes (like me) feel a fascination with an urge to grab the creature or walk with it .

So much so for this road now. I wish to go back there once again, as I have started missing the place while the words dropped on here from my heart.
