The Blue Whale Game has caught the attention of everyone as the number of suicides of the game addicts surged across the country. It is really hard to believe that someone can actually commit suicide in mere compliance of completing the stage of a mobile game. But the seriousness of the fact that kids playing the Blue Whale Game have actually committed suicide needs introspection in the matter.
The modern day urbanized societies have witnessed the expansion of nuclear families where working parents have little time to spend with their kids. Most of the kids of well to do families in age group of 12 to 20 years have easy access to the Smartphone. Some of these kids spend hours on playing games on their Smartphone.
No doubt these games create a lasting impression on their personalities and thought processes at such a tender age. Like any other addiction, they get addicted to the Smartphone games notwithstanding the deadly games.
What actually propels our generation next to hook up with these deadly games like Blue Whales or to follow these games with such passion that they can even commit suicide as a part of the game? The root cause lies in the way we are looking after our kids. As a parent, it is the responsibility of every father and mother to spend quality time with their kids. If you observe even a slight change in the behavior of your kid then you should follow it up with him/her. Walk with him and talk with him.
It is very important that your child feels comfortable in sharing everything under the sun with you. Develop a rapport with your kids and looks for any sign that shows deviation from his/her normal behavior. In case your child is playing a deadly game like Blue Whale, counsel him to leave the game with love and care.
The government on the other hand is taking active measures to ensure the game is banned in the country. Every internet service provider should take stringent measures to curb the spread of this game among the kids and youth. Every school should issue guidelines to their teachers to aware the kids about the harmful effects of such online deadly games. An open session with the kids goes a long way in educating them about not falling prey and avoids being victim to the Blue Whale.
A kid finds solace in such online games when there is a communication gap between parents and him/her. Let’s bridge that gap and schedule our priorities to give due time for our kids that they deserve. Because no amount of money can buy back the joy of childhood. Let’s give our kids a chance to blossom and explore their inner potential in constructive and meaningful ways so that they would become responsible future citizens of the nation.
