The Pen in your Hand

The Pen in your Hand

People write...what do they write and why? This is not about all those established writers. This is about people who cannot voice their feelings. This is about people who write in various ways, it could be in the form of diary (scribbling just anything that they feel like or noting a lot that they observe), it could be poetry (thoughts sad and happy penned down to be hummed later), story (for those who love the length of words and a never ending path)

Seeing today’s tech world, writing cannot be associated with picking up a pen and writing, it can also mean storing thoughts on the computer. Anyways, that is not the point of discussion as to where, the point is what and why?

It’s all about collecting various thoughts and framing them later to form something meaningful. I always note the thoughts in the note sheet on my mobile, sometimes I just keep adding there when I don’t find the opportunity to log on to my laptop. Interestingly most of the thoughts come to me when I am cooking or washing clothes. It sounds funny, though. Obviously when you are in the middle of cooking something very special and different, a word or two just spring up and you start forming sentences out of it. I make it a point to note them down as I know I might just forget that particular thought later because these kind of things come and go.

The basic point here is that those who have lots going on in their head and don’t know how to start, please do keep a notebook ready else the androids in your hands are the best friends now. There is so much you want to say, there is so much that you actually can’t say but wish so hard that you could…writing them down is the best way to help yourself. All we need to take care is use the right words and the right language.

The best way is to keep things short and simple. If you are into story writing and wish people to read more and more of your works, then start with short stories. Make it meaningful…even if a random topic has been picked up. A little pickle always makes the food more interesting even if the plate is full of variety. Hope you understand.

When it comes to poetry, the rhyming does matter, afterall that’s how poetry has been taught to us. We always remembered the lines on the basis of rhyming. Recitation during school taught us that at least. I feel poetry cannot be simply a spreadsheet, let words match and talk…that is what rhyming is about.

The most important point is that when you don’t talk; let your work speak for you. You just need to make yourself heard among the crowd. Someday you will definitely be popular and make a difference in somebody’s life…lives maybe.
