This news brings a big respite to all those TV viewers who are not comfortable with the language and content shown on these shows and other similar shows.
Television now-a-days has become the most significant and powerful media. Be it entertainment, sports or news T.V. has it all. T.V. channels have content for all age groups, right from children to mature adult to the old age group.
There are times when we have our whole family sitting together and watching television and the situation gets really awkward when we suddenly change the channel and see Sara and Ali in their bed room just after marriage kissing and cuddling.
This is not only about Bigg Boss or Rakhi Ka Insaaf, there are many shows aired on the television which are definitely not for general viewing with your family. Shows like Splits Villa, Axe the Ex, Emotional Attayachar, etc show obscene scenes and vulgarity.
Reality shows have hit their all time low. With Rakhi calling someone impotent on national television or Dolly Bindra speaking all kind of vulgar and abusive language these shows have proved that they can do anything for high TRPs.
A Society where dating and live-in relationships are still uncomfortable topics shows like Axe the ex and Emotional Attayachar can have heavy repercussions.
To what extent is it justified to invade the private life of person or is it even right to discuss this on national platform? What kind of effect these shows are going to have on pre-teens and teens?
Veena Malik dropping her towel or girls and guys at Splits Villa craving for each other’s attention and thereby making obscene gestures and lewd comments makes one question – Is this what we want our children and youngsters to see? Obscenity and vulgarity have become rampant and anything that is cheap sells.
Being born and brought up in a culture filled with love and respect for elders and companions, shows like these are not only disturbing but also result in mental conflict of what to believe and what to leave.
Some say broaden your outlook this is very natural and common in the West. But I would like to say what is common in west need not be right for us or for the young generation here.
Makers of these shows claim that those who don’t want to see them can switch off their channels or see something else. But what about the news channels that are overflowing with small recordings and clippings of the show which they keep running very frequently all through the day? Or why is it that these shows have so many repeat telecasts that when ever you switch on the channel?
Thanks to the I & B Ministry repeat telecast of Big Boss and Rakhi Ka Insaaf are to be aired between 11pm and 5am only and the news channels are also directed not to show content from these shows.
But what become important now are our discretion, rejection and unwillingness to accept this kind of content on TV. It is needed now to switch off these channels.
