Torch Browser: Chromium Browser for Internet Junkies

You may find many new generation browsers built on latest engines these days. Addition to this list is Torch Browser. Torch Browser is built on Chromium engine, the one which Chrome uses.

If you are a Chrome user, you may already know that – Chrome is best known and used for it’s speed. The same goes for this new baby – Torch. Torch utilizes the raw power of the Chromium source codes, along with many cherries that you always wanted!

Features –

· Torch provides inbuilt Media support, which means you can download any media file (Audio, Video). Let’s say if am playing a YouTube video or Listening some mp3 online; Torch will blink the icon on top-right corner for you to download the file. Cool!

· Torch supports real time sharing of the content/website you visit. On the same top-right corner is the ‘Share’ button which, after configuration, will share stories/content on your FaceBook Wall or Twitter in one click.

· The most awesome feature is the built-in Torrent support. Just download a torrent file and run it in the Torrent tab of Torch. It works pretty decently and that too in a tab of your browser.

· The Download Accelerator keeps your download speed at top-notch.

Performance –

If you are a nerd or online junkie, you may know the value of a simple download button which downloads the Video/Audio on one click. I agree it’s just the implementation of the otherwise available add-on options, but it is pretty decent and neat.

The download speed will surely leave its mark on you. The memory usage is not a big issue as it uses the same standards, that Chrome uses. Further, the download accelerator feature gives an added fillip to its speed.

The torrent download is commendable as you can also set queue, pause, stop, manage upload/download speed, resume and many such features.

Not jumping to the conclusion, that it may rock your surfing world, but it’s worth a shot. You can also enjoy your favorite extensions and add-ons of Chrome which are supported on Torch too because of the same base.

Launched recently, it only allows download on Windows OS. It has a detailed FAQ and Support section for your queries.
