Trip to Nai (नाई) Village

Certain things attract you beyond limit and when they have some memories attached, then you cannot escape and why would you want to? I visited a small village adjacent to Udaipur. The name is Nai(नाई). The village is full of greenery, some roads are still not covered with tar and if they were, rain water has washed them away.

What caught my eye was an actually cute looking tractor parked outside a house built on a small hill. The tractor also reminded me of the means of irrigation used in olden times, which has actually replaced the old land ploughing system in most of the places. Not at all wrong, with the country progressing in so many ways, mechanism has to spread.

Tractors remind me of the movie songs shot in villages in the fields. I also had a chance to move around in a village on a tractor long back in another village. This made me think that village life may be difficult for us to lead in modern days but a few days in a village can actually make you feel fresh. The fresh morning air with the sounds of cattle and also birds, the evening beauty of the golden set nature with the sun saying goodbye for that day and without a promise rising the next day also tells us that life cycle goes on. With nature following strict rules reminded me of army rules regarding punctuality gave a sudden burst of emotions which was almost difficult to control. Maybe that was because we all lack that feeling of peace with the chaos of city life and alsoTrip to Nai (नाई) Village

I also noticed a number of small hotels built in lanes which are either used by the panchayats as guest houses or even as an escape for people who don’t want to move too far away from home yet find peace somewhere unnoticed.

The single hour trip to the village still pinches me. Where has all the peace gone? Though there is no peace left in the villages, too, since the city life style has not left a village as a village in that true sense. All are running for monetary benefits.
