Vasundraji, your coming to Udaipur has already been a blessing to many parts of the city. The entire route where your caravan will pass through, has undergone a plastic surgery at 20-20 cricket match speed to give it a new look. The city circles are all painted and beautified. Huge decorative plants placed everywhere (hope they are taken care off after you leave).

Pot-holes, on the path of your caravan, are no-where to be seen. Walls that were littered with advertisement have been repainted. Companies have been asked to “voluntarily” take ownership of cleaning their surroundings. And many more.

In a nut-shell, in the classic idea cellular advertisement wordings, the make over that has happened over the past month or so “uska aapko idea bhee nahi hai“.

But I hope..

I hope that during your next visit, your itinerary has a visit of yours to parts of the old city area. Your visit my rob people of the safety net (in case one falls from terrace) that is provided by the mesh of BSNL and Electricity cables that run right next to the windows here (and in huge numbers), but people would only appreciate that.

Your visit might also give people some respite from the open air drains in certain parts of the city. Though, pot-holes that have now become acceptable and a part of life in many of these areas, they might disappear.

Also, ……let me stop myself. Vasundhraji, don’t visit, just say that you might consider visiting these areas.
