May 2, 2025 - This year, 82% of employees in India are considering changing their jobs, according to a recent study by Aon. This figure is significantly higher than the global average, where 60 out of 100 employees worldwide are thinking about switching jobs.

The survey report says that in India, 82 out of every 100 people are either actively looking for a new job or planning to change jobs within the next 12 months.

Alarmingly, 1 in every 3 new hires in India starts looking for another job within 6 to 12 months of joining. As per the data, for Gen Z work-life balance is the top-valued benefit.

Work-life balance and medical coverage are top priorities for the employees today who are increasingly focused on retirement planning.

Two conclusions that can be drawn from this data is that either job satisfaction is at a very low in the country or else, more plausible explanation is that freshers out looking for a job are too ambitious and want a jump as soon as possible. They are willing to give up their existing benefits for better options. Which was the reverse earlier when employees mostly eyed job stability, were cautiously ambitious and looked for a long-term relationship with their company.
