Anil Agarwal Pays Tribute to Rajasthan, Highlights Hindustan Zinc’s Transformative Journey

Udaipur, Feb 11, 2026:  Anil Agarwal, Chairman of the Vedanta Group, recently posted a heartfelt tribute to the people of Rajasthan on his LinkedIn handle, acknowledging their resilience, dedication, and contribution to the success of Hindustan Zinc.

“Today, Hindustan Zinc is the world’s largest supplier of zinc. When we began, it was seen as an old plant: outdated systems, slow decisions, and low expectations. Many believed it had little future,” Agarwal wrote.

However, he emphasized that the determination of Rajasthan’s people was never in doubt. “From a land that gave us Maharana Pratap and Mirabai, their skill, pride, and commitment became the foundation of our transformation,” he said.

Agarwal highlighted the company’s remarkable growth: “By staying close to the ground, listening carefully, and trusting our people, change began: from creation of over 1 lakh jobs to scaling production by 10x. Today, Hindustan Zinc contributes nearly 75% of India’s zinc, and where India once produced no silver, we now produce hundreds of tonnes annually.”

He also underscored the economic impact of Hindustan Zinc, noting that last year alone, the company contributed nearly ₹20,000 crore to the public exchequer, including ₹3,600 crore in dividends to the Government of India — equivalent to nearly ₹55 crore flowing back to the nation every single day.

“But beyond the numbers, this is a story of Rajasthan’s people and their resilience. This is our India. And there’s much more to come…” Agarwal concluded.
