Azim Premji visits Gogunda as part of Rajasthan tour
Wipro has hinted on working towards betterment of education in Rajasthan. On his part, Azim Premji committed to development of education in the state, whereas Yasmin Premji was determined to empower rural women to better employment opportunities
Taking Risks will lead you to success – was the message conveyed by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji, to the youth of the country.
Azim Premji and his wife Yasmeen Premji took part in a youth fair organised by the Workers Assistance and Reference Centre of the local chapter of Ajeevika Kendra at Gogunda. The Premjis are on a survey tour of Rajasthan, and it was during this visit that they happened to be at the local fair at Gogunda.
Azim Premji participated in a game at the fair, which involved taking shots at a pillar and putting rings around it. From a certain location, the risk of putting the rings was highest, but those who would do it would be awarded. Premji chose to play the game from that point and passed on the message to the youth that if success is to be achieved, one must be ready to take risks.
In the coming months, Wipro has hinted on working towards betterment of education in Rajasthan through the Wipro Foundation. On his part, Azim Premji committed to development of education in the state, whereas Yasmin Premji was determined to empower rural women to better employment opportunities. To be noted, Premji has already committed a fund ot USD 4 Billion upward to charity.
Premji visited the Ajeevika Bureau and spent time with the resident labour, migrant labour and their families.
Rajeev Khandelwal of the Ajeevika Bureau informed that over 10 companies provided consultancy to over 150 youth of the region at the Job Fair. Shantilal Salvi of the Ajeevika Bureau informed that 13 members registered themselves at the Bureau.
