Kanan (Suraj Sharma) was born under unlucky stars and as per rituals he had to marry a tree prior to his marriage with his childhood love Anu (Mehreen Pirzada).  To his utter shock, he got trailed by a ghost resting in the tree, named Sashi (Anushka Sharma).

Nothing can be scarier than marrying a ghost.  In Phillauri, Kanan got married with a ghost by mistake as he was marrying a tree as per ritual to get rid of his bad luck.  Kanan, though, is terrified; it gives you a lot to laugh about and enjoy.  You may however struggle to understand the abrupt shift of the story between the past of Shashi and the present of Kanan.

The story seems to be a bit slow with the scenes being longer than what they should be.  The climax of the movie is worth watching and you will come out of the Box office with tears of joy.  The film is further supported by touching songs especially Dum Dum & Sahibaa.

Overall, it is worth watching Phillauri this weekend as it would make you cry as well as laugh. The film covers appreciable blend of emotional drama though at slightly slow pace especially the first half may be boring to you. But, as a whole it is worth watching.
