A team of doctors, led by Dr. Chirayu Pamecha, performed a complex surgery on the neck bone of a 20 year old, successfully treating the deformity caused due to a fall.

A 20 year old boy from Nepal had injured his neck 6 months ago.  He was a manual laborer and while working at a building, he slipped and fell down multiple floors, damaging his neck bone.

His treatment was neglected and a fracture of C2 went un-diagnosed.  He developed neck deformity with acute pain.  If left untreated there was a possibility of him getting paralysed below the neck, which meant his entire body and limbs save for his face and head.

Dr. Chirayu Pamecha, along with a team of doctors consisting of Dr. Dr Deepak Shah, Dr Abhizer Hussain, Dr C K Pamecha, Dr Sonal Pamecha, Rajesh Jacob and other staff from Shriram Spine Hospital, Udaipur performed the surgery, which is a complex procedure having a caveat of a high complication rate.

SSH requested the parents of the patient to come down to Udaipur from Nepal.  The KUBJA trust, managed by Dr. Chirayu Pamecha, undertook the entire task in hand, and the high cost and complex surgery was performed free of services, medication and hospitalisation. The only expense was the surgical expense, of Rs. 1.25 lac, which was borne by members of the Round Table, Udaipur.

The patients underwent C1/2 fixation and fusion surgery under Neuromonitoring on 9th May.  KUBJA trust has operated 50 children with complex spinal deformity in last 4 years.
