As per the latest guidelines from the Government regarding acceptance of Rs 500 notes, the co-operative stores in the city will continue acceptance of the notes for purchases made till Dec 15, 2016.

General Manger of the Cooperative stores department informed that consumers will be able to make a purchase of Rs 5000 on the higher side at one time. He mentioned that the consumers will have to bring a photocopy of their photo identity card at the time of making the purchase.

The cooperative departmental stores will remain closed on Nov 27, 2016 for regular maintenance activities and will be fully functional from Monday onward. The department urged the consumers to support the staff during the process with the various formalities that may be required.
