UCCI meets with CONCOR officials to discuss strengthening multimodal logistics and trade support in Udaipur region
Udaipur, April 17, 2025 - A meeting of the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) with senior officials from Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) was held to discuss Strengthening Multimodal Logistics and Trade Support in the Udaipur Region. It was attended by more than 40 exporters from the Udaipur division.
The district administration’s positive support in providing land at a reasonable rate to CONCOR for the establishment of an Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Khemli was appreciated. Along with ICD, Customs clearance facilities are expected to begin by 2026.
Chief guest Sanjay Swarup, CONCOR Chairman and Managing Director, shared that currently CONCOR operates 66 ICDs, and the number is expected to cross 100 in the next three years.
UCCI honorary secretary Dr Pawan Talesra suggested providing containers from various shipping companies and ensuring Customs clearance facilities at Khemli depot. President ML Lunawat said if the cost is comparatively lower, local traders will prefer to use this facility. Patron BH Bapna proposed an increase in the movement of containers to and from the Khemli depot and to provide containers from shipping companies.
It was highlighted that containers from at least five to seven shipping lines will be made available, enabling timely transportation of export goods to ports for international shipment.
Honorary secretary Prakash Chandra Bolia also addressed the gathering.
CONCOR General Manager Vijay Singh informed that the container facility at Khemli ICD is helping exporters transport goods to Mundra Port at a lower cost. Jitendra Meena, Senior Divisional Operations Manager of North Western Railways, provided details about railway transportation of export containers.
