Film City, Music Museum Part of Budget 2025 Proposals

A pre-Budget consultation meeting in the city involved budget allocation suggestions for development of lakes, Saheliyon ki Bari, Fateh Smarak, Bagore ki Haveli, Gulab Bagh, etc

Udaipur, January 25, 2025 - In preparation for the upcoming Budget 2025, a pre-Budget consultation meeting was held on January 23 at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium of Udaipur Municipal Corporation, with the objective of prioritising the city’s development. The meeting was chaired by Additional Commissioner of the Tax Department Kavita Pathak and attended by Deputy Director of Tourism Shikha Saxena and other administrative officials.

During the meeting, traders shared suggestions on how the city could be further developed.

Yashvardhan Ranawat, president of Business Circle India Tourism, emphasised the requirement for budget allocation for skill development institutes related to tourism. He stressed on the need to reduce GST rates in the tourism sector.

Mukesh Madhvani, founder of Business Circle India, suggested the establishment of a film city, a music museum and a bakery town, explaining that these projects are crucial for transforming Udaipur into a cultural and creative hub.

The budget allocation suggestions were as such:

  • Rs 50 crore for the development of Pichola Lake, other linked lakes and ghats
  • Rs 10 crore for the development of Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Smarak
  • Rs 10 crore for Bagore Ki Havel
  • Rs 10 crore for Gulab Bagh
  • Rs 10 crore to address shortcoming in Smart City projects, such as installation of signboards and provision of mobile toilets
