Price of the yellow metal in Indian markets hits fresh lifetime-highs on April 17
April 17, 2025 - Gold prices in India and across the world hit fresh lifetime-highs today, Thursday, on the back of safe-haven buying activities and a weakening dollar as global uncertainities continue. Gold prices went up by Rs 114 across major cities today.
In the domestic market, the spot price of 24 karat gold reached Rs 97,310 per 10 grams, while 22 karat gold was priced at Rs 89,200 per 10 grams, and 18 karat gold at Rs 72,990 per 10 grams.
In the global markets, gold went past the $3,300 mark, setting new records. The US dollar index fell below the 100 mark causing the spike in gold prices. However, some analysts do not advise fresh buying in gold at the current levels. They expect prices to pullback to Rs 93,000 if it falls below Rs 95,500.
