Dunes Harley-Davidson, authorised dealers for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles in Rajasthan launched the much awaited Harley-Davidson Model year 2018 range in an all riders affair on 20th November at the Sahakar Marg showroom. The evening had participants from the riding fraternity of Rajasthan.
Harley’s 2018 model range includes minor changes in a few models – some new paint schemes and there are models like Harley-Davidson Street Bob, Harley-Davidson Fat Bob and the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Heritage getting major updates. Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, arguably the most aggressive of the lot, gets a bold new headlamp cluster that comes in a rectangular shape. The new headlamps are further complemented by new inverted front forks and a new exhaust system.
Harley’s most iconic bike, the Fat Boy gets a makeover. The most obvious is the switch from the round chrome headlamp cover to a square one that hides a new LED headlamp surrounded with oval DRLs. The alloys look milled out of a solid piece of billet aluminium.
2018 Fat Boy gets a 1745cc Milwaukee-Eight engine which now makes 144Nm of torque at 3000rpm, 12Nm more than the current model. The engine also gets stiffer mounts to make the frame more rigid. The tubular steel frame is now 65 per cent stiffer and 34 percent more rigid.
The Fat Boy is 11kg lighter. The front end too is lighter and gets Showa Dual Bending Valve (SDBV) forks that were seen on Harley’s flagship touring range last year. The new suspension setup offers increased wheel travel and improved damping. The Fat Boy gets keyless ignition and ABS as standard.
So all those who wait to grab life by the bars this is your time to walk in and test ride the new range.
