Hindmetal is India’s First to Deploy Advanced Electromagnetic Technologies for Mineral Exploration

Udaipur, August 8, 2025 - Hindmetal Exploration Services Pvt. Ltd. (HESPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: HINDZINC), has become the first company in India to deploy advanced Electromagnetic (EM) technologies for mineral exploration. The technology uses advanced SQUID sensors for surface exploration and borehole EM tool to identify hidden resources with greater precision.

Borehole EM helps detect and map conductive ore bodies like sulphide deposits by offering high-resolution insights into their shape and conductivity. SQUID sensors, used at the surface, are highly effective in capturing weak electromagnetic signals, making them valuable for identifying low-conductivity or deeply buried mineral targets. This breakthrough marks a significant advancement in the country’s exploration capabilities while enabling more accurate targeting.

Hindmetal Exploration Services is also leveraging a wide range of advanced technologies like to transform how mineral exploration is carried out. Drone-based surveys equipped with LiDAR and hyper-spectral imaging are enabling high-resolution mapping of large terrains.
